Beating wood with a Sandall and making it Shaw!

Apologies for my silly sense of humour but the title does reflect the jist of the area we're covering. So, this is a short 10.5 mile leisurely ride starting out from Sandall Beat Wood car park with an intended start time of approx 3pm, it's being planned as an extension to a Sky RIde that is taking place at 2pm within the wood which I am leading and which should be completed by 2.45pm. We'll be taking in Sandall Beat, Cantley Park, part of the pit top at Armthorpe (but not going up it), Shaw Wood and Sandall Park, with a lunch/tea stop at Wheatley Hotel at the 6.5 mile mark (so if you do the Sky Ride as well you'll be ready for it!). Make sure you wear your helmet (this is compulsory, if you have no helmet you wont be able to ride with us) and appropriate clothing for the weather (if you have any bright or hi-viz then wear that). As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre ride checks; you should also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump, and tools to enable you to change a tube if necessary. Dont forget too to bring money for refreshments and a mobile 'phone.
