From The Wellington pub we will head towards Kirkby via Burrows Lane, Catchdale Moss Lane and the East Lancashire Road to the meeting point for the Wheels for All (Pedalaway) Winter Warmer Ride at the Westvale Community Centre, Richard Hesketh Drive, Kirkby, L32 0TZ. From there we will join our cycling friends from the Wheels for All group and head out towards Rainford/Ormskirk on an approximate 20 mile risk assessed route mostly on hard surfaced roads. On return to the Wheels for All Kirkby base, the BC Community Group Ride will then return to our starting point at The Wellington pub via a route through Knowsley Village and Prescot. The total combined mileage is approximately 36 miles.

A Joint British Cycling Community Group Ride and a Wheels for All (Pedalaway) Winter Warmer Ride

Mostly on hard surfaced main roads.

There will be a refreshment stop at approximately twenty miles where you will be able to purchase hot food and drinks. Please make sure that you bring money for the purchase of refreshments.

All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required). Please also do wrap up warm and wear plenty of layers and don't forget your gloves; it will be cold....it is still winter!

It is essential that everybody enjoys the ride so it will be at an easy pace (average 8-10mph) but will be determined by the overall pace of the groups. Plenty of stops for a breather and hopefully an opportunity to take lots of photos! Always remember, we will never leave anyone behind!
