Bats and Black Cats on Bicycles

It's the start of half-term and Halloween is looming. Are you and your children brave enough to venture through the Headstone Tunnel and discover whether there is a trick or treat waiting at the other end?  If so then why not bring the kids along to this gentle ride along the Monsal Trail to Monsal Head and back. It's about 5 miles in total on an easy going trail and as it's aimed towards families, will definitely be slow paced. Fancy dress is welcome but not complusory but just make sure any cat's tails or cloaks won't get caught in the wheels or chain. The spookier the better! We'll meet in the car park behind the cafe building near to the gate onto the trail. After a quick bike check (and costume judging!!) we'll head onto the trail and the tunnel where only the bravest dare venture. If we make it to the other side, we can have a quick snack before retracing our route back to Hassop Station. It's getting cold so remember plenty of layers and if you have lights for your bike, bring them to light our way in the tunnel. In order to protect young heads, all children under 16 need to wear a helmet. Don't forget to bring a drink and snack to re-energise little legs (and big ones too).
