basingstoke(winklebury) to oakley

This gentle ride to Oakley uses cycle paths and side roads, with the option of a café stop there. We’ll meet at Winklebury Football Complex, Winklebury Way, Basingstoke. RG23 8BF. (Co-op end of Winklebury Way). The car park there has a height restriction but there is an alternative car park more or less opposite, next to the Winkle pub. The first and last part of the route are different but the middle bit (on the cycle path through the woods) is the same both ways. This part is slightly bumpy in places, particularly for road bikes. The route is undulating with a couple of short hills – but if necessary we’ll regroup at the top and wait. Any bike type is welcome so long as it’s in working order. Wear clothing comfortable for the weather that won’t get caught in your chain etc. And bring a spare inner tube and pump.
