Basingstoke (Winklebury) to Pamber End / Elm Park Garden Centre

This ride uses mainly cycle paths and side roads. It goes out through Popley to Sherborne St John, Monk Sherborne and Charter Alley for a café stop at Elm Park Garden Centre. Completes a loop to Monk Sherborne then retraces (more or less). The route is undulating with a few short hills and two short stretches on the A340 (at Sherborne St John and by the garden centre) Meet at Winklebury Football Complex, Winklebury Way,Basingstoke. (Co-op end of Winklebury Way). The car park there has a height restriction but there is an alternative car park more or less opposite, next to the Winkle pub. • Use any bike type so long as it’s in working order – make sure your tyres are well inflated. • Bring a spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump (preferably plus puncture repair kit). • Also bring water and money / lock for café. • Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather (that won’t get caught in your chain etc).
