This is a much-requested longer autumn ride. Unfortunately due to leader availability it's a Thursday rather than a weekend - a couple of us taking a day out to do it. If you have been building up your fitness and mileage over the summer and would like to join us please do - note we'll be looking to do this in under 5 hours ride time (aiming overall for about 13 mph) plus either a short stop mid-ride or a longer one at the end depending on weather etc. If you know you can do this sort of distance comfortably on a hybrid type bike you are welcome though I have recommended road bikes only in general. For those who did the Windsor Challenge, check the profiles (hills) to compare and you'll see this one has more shorter hills throughout and more in total climbing rather than the one long steep one in Windsor. We will wait at the tops of hills so people can challenge themselves but looking to keep the average up. This may suit those signed up for Linda's ride on 4th October. Route is approximate and subject to a recce but will aim to keep it around 100k. Heading to Alresford then out towards the South Downs/ Meon Valley returning via Alresford but a different route home. It's very pretty. Queries - ask via facebook, email or twitter. See you out there! Ruth & Linda facebook.com/breezingstoke [email protected] twitter @breezingstoke
