Starting point

RG21 4QF

Middle of Eastrop Park, under the bandstand, by the lake, just off the bike path, near the car park.

This is the rescheduled ride from the windy cancelled 31st March. On-road route from Eastrop Park out through Old Basing, Newnham Lane, Rotherwick, Mattingley and back in a loop via Bottle Lane through Rotherwick back via Greywell Rd from Newnham. A few undulations and a short climb to Newnham but otherwise not a hilly ride and very pretty. Around 20 miles about 10-11 miles per hour. It only says 'challenging' as this is is an automatic category for rides over 20 miles. This is a repeat of the ride on 29th March so if you found the 10 mile ride easy and want to go longer, or you enjoyed it and want to do it again, or you just want an evening ride, here you go! This is the first longer evening ride of the season with the clocks just having gone back. We will take it fairly steady and welcome those who want to give the distance a try if you've been working up to it. As it is the first ride, it will be slower than the rides got last summer and we want to welcome newcomers. You will need to have lights on your bike to comply with legal requirements and we recommend spare inner tubes (just ask at your local bike shop) and a helmet and clothes to keep you warm and not get caught up in your chain etc. Any concerns, queries, contact [email protected] twitter @breezingstoke or www.facebook.com/breezingstoke
