Basingstoke Love Parks Week Ride 1 - 11 mile

We will meet under the bandstand at War Memorial Park for a quick chat before heading off at 6.30pm. This is a social ride to help celebrate 'Love Parks' week in Basingstoke. There is a slightly longer version of this ride next week too. It is a nearly all off road with a couple of short road sections which we'll ride safely in a nice group. The rest is a mix of tarmac and hardpack cycle paths. You can ride it on a road bike, but it is a little bumpy / will require some care in a couple sections. The pace will be slower than you might expect as it is a social ride and we will be sharing the paths potentially with a few runners, dog walkers etc. and taking some photos. We did this ride last year and it was great fun and many people visited parks they never knew existed! Depending on weather and timings, options stop after the ride for a drink etc. Parks include: War Memorial, Eastrop Park, Glebe Gardens, Victory Park, George V playing fields, Winklebury Park, Beggarwood Park, past Hatch Warren Park and back to War Memorial Park.
