NOTE CHANGE OF START POINT - TO MAKE THE ROUTE MORE STRAIGHTFORWARD FOR A 50k/50k SPLIT THE RIDE WILL START IN THE MIDDLE OF EASTROP PARK. This is Basingstoke's version of the Rapha Women's 100k! (but we have a stop-at-50k option too!!) http://www.rapha.cc/womens100 On Sunday 7th July 2013 join thousands of women around the world to ride 100km. The aim is to create a global event, with thousands of women taking to the road to complete a 100km journey. The Rapha Women’s 100 is not a competition to see who is the fastest, it is about gathering a global community of women around the world to take part in this shared adventure. Interested? We hope this will appeal to those looking for a new challenge, or for stronger riders who just will enjoy a social female only ride! Not sure you can make 100k? We have planned a figure of 8 route so that you will be back at the start point (Eastrop Park) after having completed 50k. At this point YOU can decide if you and/or bike are fit and/or have the desire to continue! We are looking to try for about 12mph/ 19km/h. We had said between 5-6 hours depending on the group. You will find this a lot more difficult on a mountain bike. Here is the proposed route (Know we need to shave a couple of kms off, don't worry, just not redrawn the map!) - the first half is easier so we will try and get round it quicker. https://www.goskyride.com/SCG/ViewRouteBlank?routeID=15100   Contact [email protected] with queries or sign up get it in the diary. Come along to one of our midweek rides to get an idea of speed and stamina and to meet some friendly faces. www.facebook.com/breezingstoke or twitter @breezingstoke  Happy cycling! Ruth and Sarah
