Basingstoke: Brookvale to Winklebury loop

The plan is to do a similar distance / pace to that last week. As before we can add a loop to the original route or repeat a portion of the route (depending on whether anyone new signs up). This means it should be possible to do this as a 6 mile or 9 mile ride - we can discuss before we set off. This is a good starter ride with us if you've mastered the basics of bike riding. Please do come a bit early so we have time for introductions etc before setting off. There is some (quiet) road riding and also some cycle paths. - You can bring any bike that’s in good working order – make sure your tyres are well inflated. - Bring a spare inner tube (if you’re not sure what size you need - check the tyre size / markings then ask at a bike shop) - (Also a pump if you can) - It’s best to wear layers – it can get chilly in the evening. - Make sure you BRING LIGHTS (the nights are slowly drawing in!) We will head on the cycle path parallel to Churchill Way, up past the waterworks to Houndmills then either- along Winklebury Way and cross Worting Road by the railway bridge. Continue past Buckskin then return via the Leisure Park and Brookvale or - a route round Popley.
