Elsecar

Come and try this lovely route alongside the Elsecar canal between two of Barnsley's finest tourist venues.

There will be a very short section of road from the car park until you get to the Trans Pennine Trail, but once you have joined it you are traffic free all the way to RSPB Old Moor.  There are a couple of road crossings on the route.

Why not take a break and try some bird spotting at RSPB Old Moor before you start on the return journey back to the Elsecar Heritage Centre, where if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of a Heritage Steam or Diesel locomotive.
