Starting point

YO25 6XL

Bell Mills Garden Centre, Skerne Road, Driffield

Following a busy summer when we have been unable to get out much on the weekends we are now looking forward to a slightly more challenging ride for those ladies who have had a few steady rides with us and are now looking for something a little more adventurous. Leaving Bell Mills we will head out to Skerne and follow the road on to Hutton where we will cross over the main road and start a long gradual ascent through the villages of Southburn and Tibthorpe up towards Huggate.  This is not a steep climb, and does seem to go on for quite a time, but don't worry the pace will not be fast and is well worth it because, on reaching the top we turn left towards Huggate and then left again which brings us down a nice long descent to North Dalton, so for anyone who enjoys getting a bit of speed up going downhill this is an ideal opportunity to up the pace a little.  Again, if you don't like going fast do not worry because you won't have to.  Upon reaching North Dalton we will turn left again and head towards the tea rooms at Bainton roundabout where a nice coffee stop, hopefully in the courtyard, weather permitting, will await us, so make sure you bring some pennies.  Feeling refreshed we then head back through the village of Bainton and on through the lanes to Hutton Cranswick where we will rejoin our original outward route to return to Bell Mills. It’s a good idea to bring some water, snacks to keep you going and sun cream if it’s hot! Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. All you need is a roadworthy bike, sensible clothing and a bit of enthusiasm. It helps to have a spare inner tube of the correct size - just in case. Don’t forget…. Breeze are on a mission to spread the word about their rides, and need your help. If you introduce one friend who goes on to take part in a Breeze ride, you’ll receive a Breeze water bottle, introduce a second friend, you’ll be the proud owner of one of their swish Breeze Buffs, and introduce a third friend and Breeze will send you £15 of Love2Shop vouchers. Read the article on the homepage for more information. Look forward to seeing you there!
