Starting point

Cheshire
WA4 1DU

We leave Victoria park and gain the Blackbear path towards Stockton Heath. We pick up the TPT and then head eastwards alongside Manchester Ship Canal to Latchford. We then briefly use the roads to turn left on to Thelwall New Road towards Latchford Lock. A right turn on Bradshaw Lane brings us to the entrance to the TPT (Trans-Pennine Trail) and a short climb (or walk) gets us to the long-disused railway trackbed that is now a popular cycle and walking path. We then follow the route high above the rooftops through Lymm and Oughtrington to Station Road where we ride for the last section to access Dunham Massey.
We return by the outward route.

An easy-paced autumnal ride on the traffic-free TPT to the cafe at RHS Dunham Massey. Lovely scenery and views of Cheshire countryside and posh folk's back gardens throughout.

A relatively flat ride using the old Blackbear cycleway and Trans-Pennine trail cycle route. Two short stretches of road in Thelwall and Dunham.

A planned cafe stop is available at RHS Dunham Massey. Plenty of stops can be had throughout and chances to take a photograph. We might even get to see the deer in the grounds of the stately home.

Helmets are advisable and mandatory if U-18 years. Warm and wet-weather clothing is recommend to pack. Don't forget gloves! Spare inner-tubes, Sealant or a puncture outfit, Basic tools. Bike Lock and money/card if using the cafe.

First-timers welcome!
