Down-a-gate Community Centre

History & Heritage Route: Takes in some local history sites together with points where Joseph Bell from the Titanic has a memorial stone and where George Stephenson ran the rocket along a lost railway line. Also Naworth Castle and Lanercost priory - home to the British Parliament when Edward (Longshanks) 1 was in residence in 1306. There is an opportunity to stop for cake & coffee/tea at Lanercost (@half way)as well as at Sally's Tea Rooms in Warwick Bridge (at the end of our ride).
