Starting point

Perthshire

A clockwise journey around Loch Leven on gravel paths through a variety of pretty countryside with beautiful views of nature, the loch and Kinross-shire. The route is almost entirely traffic free except for a hundred metres or so at the sluice gate. The paths are gravel and in pretty good condition. We will have lovely views of the loch, enjoy seeing the leaves starting to turn yellow now Autumn is upon us and admire Kinross-shire from all the viewpoints along the way. Undoubtedly we will see some lovely nature as the path is part of the RSPB national nature reserve.

An anti clockwise journey around Loch Leven on gravel paths through a variety of pretty countryside with beautiful views of nature, the loch and Kinross-shire.

The route is almost entirely traffic free except for a few hundred metres at the sluice gate. The paths are gravel and in pretty good condition. The route is almost completely flat with one short and steepish section heading up towards Vane Farm. Some riders may prefer to walk this 50 metre incline especially if it is a little muddy after rain. It is absolutely fine to do this and we will regroup.

No cafe stop is planned but we will stop as needed for riders to have their own drinks and snacks.

Helmets and eye protection are advisable. Lights are essential at this time of year. Although we should be back by sunset, there is a chance we could be delayed if there are punctures or mechanical issues. Your bike should be in good working order with tyres pumped up. Please bring an inner tube and any tools specific to your bike. Layers are best at this time of year and a waterproof jacket in case it rains. Please bring a drink and any snacks you need. Hi viz clothing is recommended if you are cycling home after the ride.

We never leave anyone behind
