Autumn All Around
With the seasons definitely on the change, I’m hoping the mild and dry period will give us just another ride before Christmas and Winter set in.

The ride this month is about 15 miles long, and will involve some hill pulls, but we’re always rewarded with the downhill runs – And … we never leave anyone behind, but wait at the tops for everyone to get their breath back.
Starting as usual at the free car park by the River Bridge, we head towards Barcheston and Willington before taking on the little hills to Little Butts and Cherington. Then a new route over to Harrow Hill, before the descent into Whichford and our coffee stop at the Straw Kitchen. You might want a little extra time to visit the craft shop at The Pottery.
The return route is the usual way back towards Stourton and Sutton under Brailes and home via Burmington, Willington and Barcheston.
This looks like being a very interesting route and we should have some wonderful views from the hill tops. Most of the roads are very lightly trafficked, narrow country lanes with gravel on the bends and probably slippery leaves in places at this time of year.
Do, therefore, ensure your bike is in a roadworthy condition – check the brakes and tyres. Lights are a good idea and gear up for the light and weather conditions at the time. A properly fitting helmet is always recommended, but is not compulsory.
Bring your cash or card for the café and a bottle of water.
