Coalville

This 7 mile ride provides a great opportunity to see Coalville's new urban cycle routes along with the Bosworth Trail off road paths.  Learn how you might get around town without so much contact with motor vehicles.  From the start at Snibston we will explore a short distance of the Bosworth Trail around Snibston Country Park, past the football ground and into and through the town centre.  We will wend our way across Phoenix Green (developed in 2006 on land that was formerly railway property, along Whitwick Road and join the car free lane out to Stephenson Way cycle path. After cycling to the Bardon Road quarter of town we will follow the new Route 5 commuter route that winds its way from the Bardon Close across to Broom Leys.  We return to Snibston by cycling the length of cycle route 3 along Stephenson Way and following Ashby Rd into Chiswell Drive. If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
