Join us for an 11 mile ride around Thirlmere. We will cycle from Swirls Car Park and along the cycle path by the shore of Thirlmere to the dam. From here we will join the quiet road round the back of Thirlmere before returning to our starting point on forest tracks. There are some fairly steep climbs on this ride so it is not suitable for beginners. A mountain bike or hybrid with off road tyres is essential for this ride due to the nature of the off road sections.
This ride will follow all current social distancing requirements and numbers on the ride are limited. I would ask that if you are showing any symptoms of Covid 19 or if you have been in contact with anyone who has symptoms of Covid 19 you do no come on the ride.
We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. This ride is not suitable for beginners. Our aim is for everyone to enjoy their ride and have a fun sociable ride in the company of other women, build up confidence in our riding in a supportive group environment, as well as ask questions about bikes and riding, and make links with others.
Remember to wear clothes that are comfortable and suitable for the weather to cycle in. It is a good idea to bring a spare inner tube, waterproof jacket, a bottle of water and a snack. We always recommend that you wear a cycle helmet.
