Armley to Methley Rivers Meet Cafe along Canal

Starts along the Leeds/Liverpool canal towpath into Leeds, then brief road section through the city centre to the Royal Armouries where we join the Aire Calder Navigation all the way to Methley for refreshments at the Rivers Meet Cafe. We retrace our route for the return journey.

A varied and scenic route combining the best of town and country, with a cafe stop for a cuppa, cake and a chat!

Mostly off-road (canal towpath) plus city centre cycle paths/quiet roads. **NB: Some of the canal and river paths on this route are rough and uneven and will be muddy after wet weather, and there are a couple of short gravelly sections so MTB bikes or hybrids with MTB tyres are preferable. At the south side of Skelton Grange road bridge we will use the new ramp to access the bridge then push our bikes down the steps on the north side (via a metal 'ramp' at the side of the steps).

We'll take a refreshment break half way at the Rivers Meet cafe.

Bring a spare inner tube and/or puncture repair kit (just in case!), money for the cafe, and dress for the weather on the day.
