Antrobus Figure of 8

This is a nice short ride of 9 miles which is largely flat and takes us into Whitley, past Antrobus Golf Club, along Occupation Lane and then back along the lanes of Antrobus.

We set out from the café and go along Knutsford Road, carefully crossing the A559 onto Lake Lane and Normans Lane into Whitley. We follow Dark Lane, Booths Lane and School Lane back to the A559. There we will dismount and walk our bikes over the A559 at the Birch and Bottle Pub. We’ll cycle down Birch Tree Lane and Foggs Lane past the golf club to Reed Lane. Avoiding the potholes, we’ll take Occupation Lane to the Arley straight. We then take Barbers Lane, Pools Platt Lane, Hollins Lane and Keepers Lane back to rejoin Barbers Lane and return to the Village Hall.

This is a short route on quiet roads designed for people new to or returning to cycling! We will ride at an easy pace of about 10mph, and make sure that no one is left behind.

There will be short stops along the route. At the end of the ride, we can have home-made and well-earned refreshments at the Antrobus Village Tea Room!

You'll need a road worthy bike. Helmets are strongly recommended. We also recommend you bring a pump and a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit. You might want to bring a lock as well. Please bring your own drinks and snacks, if required or money for the tea room refreshments.
