An Ullswater View

This  9 mile ride is a mixture of both off road and on road but it is only suitable for mountain bikes due to the nature of the off road section.  We will start by climbing on a good track to Heughscar Hill.  On the descent we will get some stunning views of Ullswater and the surrounding fells.  We will then pick up the bridleway to Howtown passing The Cockpit.  The descent down to Howtown is one of the best in the Lake District, though it is never too technical.  From Howtown we will return to Pooley Bridge along the road.
This is the ride for you if you would like to give natural mountain biking a go.  Ride in a women only group on natural trails with amazing views.  We will be riding at the pace of the slowest rider so we don't leave anyone behind.
Mountain bikes are essential for this ride and so is a helmet.  You will also need to come dressed for the weather, have a waterproof with you,  a drink and a snack are also a good idea.  It would also be good to carry a spare inner tube, just in case you need it.  As the route can be wet and muddy, a spare change of clothing for after the ride is also advisable.
Mountain biking is great fun and a good way to get fit so come along and give it a go.
