The Pods, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, DN16 1AA

Starting from the Pods Leisure Centre, this 19 mile route has a mix of tarmac roads and tarmac cycle paths, heading North on the NCN 169 cycle path. Normanby Hall Country Park, a couple of villages, a stop in the tea rooms in Alkborough, the ancient turf maze of Julian's Bower together with stunning views over Trent Falls where the rivers Trent and Ouse join to form the Humber all in one great ride! The return journey goes back through Burton Stather and Flixborough, re-entering Scunthorpe back on the NCN 169 cycle path. If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
