Along the Greenway

This is a social bimble from Newport to Gnosall and back, stopping off at a village pub at the halfway point. There is no set speed for this ride and we’ll be taking it easy, with the emphasis on enjoying ourselves.

Almost all this route will be on the Greenway, a cycle path which runs between Newport and Stafford. This ride is particularly suitable for hybrids and mountain bikes, though we have also ridden it on road bikes and folding bicycles.

Helmets are required for all our rides. You will also want clothing suitable for everything British weather can throw at us and cash or contactless means of payment for refreshments at the pub. As this isn’t one of our usual ‘cake stops’ it would be a good idea to carry snacks to fill the gap usually filled by Victoria sponge.
