Between October 2013 and April 2014, this winter I am going to lead a series of Tuesday evening rides on a Sunday morning. Eh? I hear you say. Tuesday evening rides on a Sunday morning? What’s all that about? Well, maintaining the spirit of the Huddersfield & District CTC Tuesday evening rides (which I lead), I intend to take one ride per month on a Sunday morning. All will start from Somerset Bridge (HD5 9AD) at 10am. This first one will be the longest at about 36 miles (whilst we are still feeling fit and adventurous and with a short cafe stop) and will go from town all the way out to Penistone on a challenging (lumpy) but scenic route. All on road but hopefully with not much traffic and no main or busy roads. I am aiming these at existing regular Huddersfield & District CTC Tuesday riders AND anyone else that would like to come along. We are a friendly lot and welcome new riders. The rides are intended for experienced riders, led at a sensible but steady pace. The rides may be too long and challenging for a new rider to step up to, and may too slow/steady for regular Sunday club riders wanting a full days ride. The rides will be lumpy and as it’s going to be winter you will need to be properly dressed for the weather.
