Aire Valley Breeze

Details We'll meet in the Town Square and after an intro and quick bike check we'll set off on this flattish ride along the Aire Valley, following the old valley bottom road through Riddlesden and Sandbeds and out to Keighley, where we'll have a refreshment stop (very important!) in the cafe at Central Hall Community Centre on Alice Street. Then we'll retrace our route back to Bingley. The total distance from Bingley to Keighley and back is around 8 miles. There is the option to extend this ride out to Crosshills and then return to Keighley for a refreshment or lunch stop. Whether or not we take this option will be on the the decision of the group on the day. If anyone in the group does not wish to do this - for whatever reason - we will stick to the shorter ride out to Keighley. This is a road ride and although it isn't a very busy road the ride does involve dealing with some traffic so you need to have some experience of riding on the road, although you'll have the support of the Leader and group. All women are welcome on this ride, including newcomers to Breeze rides. We always go at the pace of the slowest rider, so no-one is left behind. What to bring You need to have a bike that is in good working order and to dress appropriately for the weather: several thin layers are good, so you can add/remove them as needed; a shower-proof jacket might come in handy too! Wearing a helmet is advisable. Please bring some water and a snack to top up your energy levels. A puncture repair kit and a spare inner tube may come in useful!
