A proper challenging ride but the emphasis is on riding as a team and finishing as a team.
Starting at the George park and ride we take the easy cycle route and country lane to join the Plymbridge trail at Bickleigh and make our way up to Yelverton.
From there we’ll head to Tavistock taking a circular route via Sampford Spiney, Moor Shop and Harford.
Passing through the centre of Tavistock we’ll start a long, but not too difficult climb passing Lamerton up to Carr’s garage. A bit more climbing interspersed with exhilarating descending known as ‘the roller coaster’ and a final gentle uphill to our lunch/refreshment stop at the Lifton farm shop and it’s big cakes.
After refuelling, a quick down and up to Portgate then quiet country lanes through to Chillaton and the big ascent which brings us out on the Lower Chaddlehanger and the long descent back into Tavistock.
Finally we head back to Clearbrook on the cycle trails before heading down the main Plymouth/Yelverton road to our start point.
Plenty of ups AND downs so not for the feint hearted but with an amazing sense of accomplishment.
