Starting point

London
W3 7LL

A mostly flat cycle ride into central London via many quiet streets, cycleways and traffic free paths. A steady pace including stops means total duration should be just under 3 hours. Marked as challenging only due to riding into central London which can get a little busy.

In fairness to all riders, the intention is to leave at the posted time. I regret we may not be able to wait for late arrivals, so please give yourselves enough time to get to the start. If you have any questions before registering, please feel free to drop me a line via the 'Message Ride Creator' button above.

The route into central is north via Wormwood Scrubs where we join quiet roads in North Kensington through to Hyde Park. From there we join the cycleway through Green Park and St James Park past Buckingham Palace to Parliament Square and the Houses of Parliament. We will then cycle onwards re-joining the upgraded cycleways to and over Chelsea Bridge and stop in Battersea Park for refreshments. Leaving the park, we will take the Thames path and cross back at Wandsworth Bridge and travel through Fulham towards Hammersmith, via Craven Cottage football stadium. We may re-join the Thames Path however the local council currently prohibits cyclists between certain times so there may be a detour via quiet roads instead. Finally, we will cycle through Ravenscourt Park and then through back streets back to Acton Park.

All participants are expected to bring:
• A bike in good working order with tyres pumped to the correct pressure.
• A cycle helmet
• Carry at least a spare inner tube, pump and tyre levers.
• Dress for the weather on the day.
• A drink and consider bringing food or a snack to insure you are correctly fuelled to ride.
• Money/bank card if you wish to purchase food and drink at stops.
• Lights if there is any chance of poor visibility.
