Leaving the RSPB carpark, the route takes us along the shore of the estuary with its wonderful views of the Castle. Heading across the railway and then the estuary bridge - via the suspension bridge, we will cycle along the iconic Conwy Harbour (passing the smallest house in Wales), and head along the shared cycle way to Conwy Morfa and thence onto the start of the coastal cycle path.

The route hugs this dramatic bit of coast for some way, passing through Penmaenbach point and along the promenades of Penmaenmawr and LLanfairfechan, before a short section of road leads us to the lower end of Abergwyngregyn village. We then deviate away from the A55 and head down the lanes to the distillary near to the railway line.

After our cafe stop, our return route will be pretty much the same way it was on the way out.

This is a nice, straight-forward ride that largely follows the coastal cycle path all the way to Abergwyngregyn with a return journey back the same way. Whilst not entirely flat, most of the ups are those to get us over bridges! Our refreshment stop will be at this half-way point, at the rather lovely cafe at the Aber Falls Distillary.

Most of the route is a paved, off-road cycle path, with smaller sections of road, most of which are fairly light in traffic.

Please wear a helmet and bring with you a spare inner tube to fit your bike. Money will be needed for the cafe stop. As there could be a pretty chilly breeze along the coast, please ensure you come with plenty of warm & windproof clothing.

First-timers welcome!
