Portchester Community Centre. Please arrive at 9:20 so that we can leave at 9:30 prompt

This ride includes a climb to get the blood pumping (but not too much), quiet lanes, lovely views of the countryside and Fareham Creek, all in less that 10 miles. This is an excellent introduction to cycling up Portsdown Hill, if you haven't done it before, because we take the hill in 2 stages and don't go all the way to the top. It is no problem if you need to push your bike some of the way - you probably won't be the only one, and you certainly won't be left behind! We go part way up Portsdown Hill (via Down End) then along Swivelton Lane and Nine Elms Lane to Wallington, then through Fareham, avoiding busy roads, to return through both Bath Lane and Wicor recreation grounds. Bring some cash as we will stop for refreshments and a chat in Fareham. Children are welcome on this ride but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
