About the route
Departing Cockermouth via Isel Road, around the back of Setmuthy woods and out towards Bassenthwaite Lake before heading back into town via Embleton.
Helmets are essential, a spare inner tube useful, comfortable clothing – a waterproof if wet, some water & a snack are advisable. Money for coffee & cake at the end a good idea!
This is a popular local route on quiet back back roads, a third of which have recently been resurfaced. The ride is suitable for beginners, wanting to stretch their legs a bit further, ladies returning to cycling or more experienced riders out for a sociable ride. We will ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. The aim being to have an enjoyable ride in the company of other women.
