A Ride to See the Pony's New Coat

Here's a lovely accessible and totally flat ride that takes us along the coast from Prestatyn and past the most northerly point of mainland Wales, and almost all of the route is traffic-free.
Our route will take us over the golf course and on to the lovely Warren cycle path in to Talacre. From here we'll continue along the cycle path past the Point of Ayr. We'll stop and admire the very freshly repainted pit pony and miner monument, which is a tribute to the ponies and miners who worked so hard when the site we will be cycling past was an active deep pit coal mine. The photograph to this ride was taken by Graham D Smith, and he and his nephew carried out the hard work repainting the monument.
We'll return to Prestatyn along the same route.
A cafe stop is not scheduled on this ride but we can bring our own snacks and stop somewhere along the way.
Helmets are mandatory, and please bring a spare inner tube and tools for repairing a puncture or a tubeless repair kit.
