We start at the Secret, opposite St Helens, where we then follow the Swansea Bay and Swansea Valley cycle paths for approximately 12kms until Glais. From Glais we take an unclassified road and contour for a while before we start winding our way around the northern slopes of Mynydd Drummau to descend into Bryncoch and Neath for a well earned cuppa. We follow the traffic free Neath Canal back to Briton Ferry, (looking out for swans and moorhens as we go), where we join the cycle path back to Swansea.

A route that encompasses the gentle gradients of the Swansea Valley cycle path to Glais, a bit of a hilly midriff over to Neath and then the nice flat return along the Neath Canal and Fabian Way.

Approximately 70% of the route is along traffic free paths, with the remainder of the route primarily on unclassified roads.

We will stop in Neath for refreshments, so please bring money for any that you require. We will also stop to take a breather as necessary, so please carry any drinks and snacks that you might need on route.

Please wear helmets, have weather appropriate clothing and ensure that your bike is in good working order. It is always handy to carry a pump and spare inner tube/puncture repair kit. Please bring any refreshments you might need on route and money for refreshments when we stop.

We are a friendly bunch that never leaves anyone behind. We particularly welcome newcomers.
