Starting from - We'll meet at the free public car park along Shore Road in Lower Gronant. Head down towards Presthaven Sands - the car park is opposite Crofters Pantry. Please note that there is a height barrier in place, so if you use a roof mounted cycle carrier you will need to take your bike off before entering the car park. We'll meet at 10.15am for our safety checks so that we'll be ready to go at 10.30am.

We'll head out from the car park up the hill in to Gronant, through Prestatyn and on to the Dyserth railway cycle path. From here we'll take a steep climb, at the top of which we can stop to take in the views of Y Gop, the third largest prehistoric monument in the British Isles and our first historical site to admire. We'll then cycle along some lovely, undulating country lanes and tackle a toughish climb before stopping at our next site, the ancient Celtic cross of Maen Achwyfan (there's a short walk to the cross itself, and I can take care of the bikes for anyone who wants to visit the cross for a closer look). After this we'll enjoy a lovely descent into Tremostyn, and then head along the lane through Mostyn Estate, our third historical site. Some more ups and downs in to Picton next, after which we'll enjoy another descent. After carefully crossing a busy A road we'll take the old pit lane down to the Point of Ayr, our fourth historical site. We then have a nice traffic-free route back which takes us through Talacre where we will look out for our fifth site, the lighthouse. After this we'll cycle along The Warren, our final historical site of the tour - we'll be looking out for signs of its use as an evacuee camp during World War 2. Our last leg of the journey is through Presthaven Sands Holiday Park after which we'll soon be back at the car park. There is no planned cafe stop on this ride, but we can stop to eat our own snacks, and there is a cafe close to the car park for anyone who wants to stop there after the ride.
