It's a pleasant route starting off along Friar Park Road, a minor 'B' road which isn't particularly busy. We're only on the road for five minutes. There is a shared cycle path but it tends to get shared with parked vehicles and foliage! We then traverse the Tame Valley canal for about fifteen minutes before exiting on to a bridal way. This bridal way is lovely (slightly down hill on the way!) but has a few 'obstacles' requiring avoidance and a slightly muddy patch depending on how the weather has been but it's not difficult to cycle. After another very short stretch of very minor road (i'm yet to encounter a moving vehicle!) we pick up the National Cycle Route through Sandwell Valley to Forge Mill Farm.

A pleasant route taking in towpaths and bridal ways leading us through part of Sandwell Valley and finishing at Forge Mill Farm where refreshments are available to purchase.

The route takes us along minor 'B' roads, cycle lanes, canal towpaths and bridal ways.

It's a short ride so there are no planned stops but we do stop at anytime as and when required.

Bring your bikes and helmets although we have a few which can be borrowed on the day. A little money is advisable for refreshments which can be purchased on arrival at Forge Mill Farm.

First-timers welcome!
