National cycle route 7 adjacent to St. Roberts School, Biddick Lane, Washington.

We start on Nation Cycle Route 7 (ncr7); adjacent to St. Roberts school on Biddick lane Washington. Continuing west we climb steadily until Anfield plain. Here we leave ncr7, to join country lanes heading towards Witton Gilbert. Before then, we take a short detour to Broom House farm for refreshments.
After coffee and cake we have a short climb to a magnificent vista across the 3 counties. After a brief stop to take in the view we decend into Sacriston before another climb to Edmondsley. Here we turn east through Waldridge country park before entering Chester-Le-Street. Head onto Birtley before re-joining NCR7 and return to Washington.
