Starting point

Oxfordshire
SN6 8AG

We should call this one of our three counties rides. We leave Oxfordshire shortly after we depart the start area and just creep into the northern limits of Wiltshire as make our way up and down a couple of hills in and out of Highworth, the main loop of the ride which takes us alongside the east and north side airfield and into Fairford town (Gloucs) for coffee. We then take a Southern loop around the airfield before eventually coming home via Highworth again

If you are joining us in Highworth please put a message in the conversation after you have signed up. we should be there at about 10:20-10:30

We could call this the Fairford Marathon Ride as its 26 miles (an a wee bit) with a few hilly bits at the start and Finish. You can join this ride in Highworth. We will RV at Highworth Recreation Centre, The Elms, SN6 7DD

We will be on country roads and lanes for the majority of this ride; For those starting from Shriv there a few hilly bits to get into Highworth and a couple more as we leave Highworth but once we get and return to hannington its virtually flat. The hills are do-able and we will wait and regroup so no one gets left behind

Planning to Have Coffee at the Lynwoods in Fairford at almost exactly half way round

Don’t forget a full water bottle with your favourite thirst quencher. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted-on then a spanner that fits the wheel nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, (GLOVES) and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or debit card for the refreshment stop. Some place’s only take card payments.

We welcome newcomers to our ride group, but we want you to enjoy the ride so please consider the route, distance and terrain. If this ride is likely to be a bit difficult then check out our other rides which we put on for newbies and returners and join us on something easier
