About the route
Starting at the 3 Horseshoes pub we head towards Newcastle's Millenium bridge to follow National Cycle Route (NCR)72 west to Ovingham.
We follow the river Tyne into Bywell before turning South towards Riding Mill. Leaving the main road we climb up to Wheelbirks parlour for well earned refreshments.
On return we cross the river Tyne at Wylam to return via the south bank into Gateshead & retrace our route back to Washington.
