A breezy ride to Fredrick's

This ride is approximately 12 miles long in total along the Leeds Liverpool canal, with a midway stop at Fredrick's ice cream parlour. This ride will meet up at the top of leyland mill lane where there is ample free parking for those arriving by car. We will join the canal towpath at the green bridge in haigh hall, from here we will cycle down the canal towpath towards chorley. This is a lovely scenic ride but the towpath can be a little bumpy in places so bikes with off road tyres ie mountain/hybrid bikes are most suitable. This ride is not recommended for road bikes. Helmets are advised to be worn but not compulsory and if you have a spare inner tube please bring along as this is easier than trying to repair a puncture, but don't let this stop you from taking part. Please bring a drink with you and any snacks you may require along the way.
