The Library, London Road car park (pay and display)

We'll meet in London Road carpark outside of the Library. Please bear in mind this is a pay and display carpark. (£1 after 6pm). We'll ride from London Road carpark and turn right on to London Road then left heading in to Hawton village via Albert Street and Hawton Road. Once in Hawton Village we will turn right, ride along Hawton Lane and turn left towards Thorpe. We'll ride through Thorpe and turn right, out on to the old A46 at East Stoke, heading towards Farndon but turn right just before Farndon to ride back through Hawton and back in to Newark the same way we came. Once we get back on to London Road we will continue up toward the old hospital, turning left down Sherwood Avenue and Friary Road and right at the mini roundabout where we will ride along Sleaford Road and head up Beacon Hill. Once we get to the top we will continue up Beckingham Road, turn right at the school and go down Balderton Lane. We'll then turn right heading in to Newark via Barnby Road. At the end of Barnby Road we will make a left, then a right and we are back at London Road carpark. I HAVE CALLED THIS THE 50/50 RIDE AS THERE IS THE OPTION TO FINISH AT THE LIBRARY RATHER THAN CONTINUING TOWARDS BESCON HILL (THIS WILL MAKE YOUR RIDE AROUND 9 MILES) AND THOSE THAT WANT TO GIVE BEACON HILL A GO AND DO A LONGER RIDE WILL FINISH ON ABOUT 15 MILES. This is a steady paced ride and you will need to be confident on the roads as there will be small roundabouts and traffic at times. No one gets left behind and we really welcome newcomers to our rides! It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way. Wearing a helmet is compulsory on this ride and lights and/or hi viz is advisable. I look forward to seeing you soon! www.facebook.com/breeze-network-newark-sherwood If you have any questions please email us on [email protected] Breeze are on a mission to spread the word about their rides, and need your help.
