This is an easy paced ride, but should provide a reasonable challenge for for those who have just started cycling, those who haven't ridden their bikes much recently, and those who want a sociable ride. The ride will follow the Ridgeway out to Wilmcote, make a loop around the lanes via Billesley, and then head for the cafe at Mary Ardens House. From the cafe, we are not far from the start, and the return route is downhill via the canal towpath. It must be said that the route is not flat, but panic not, there is only one hill that may require a walk (perfectly acceptable) or your low gear. And once you've conquered the hill, it's flat or downhill to coffee. The main requirement is a bicycle in good working order (e.g., good brakes, tyres pumped up, chained oiled if need be). A helmet is advised, but not compulsory. A water bottle is a good idea. It's also good to carry a spare inner tube to fit your tyre, but the leader carries a few spares.
