Opposite Halfords in Whetstone High Street, by M&S.
Easy first few miles through quiet roads after we escape from High Barnet, about 8miles into the ride we hit some short and sharp climbes with some nice fast descending (Vineyard and Carbone) with a gradient of 10%. After that is an undulating loop (x3) which takes a sloping but fast rise to Little Berkhamstead, up to Essondon and back through the Tyler Causeway. The 8.4mi loop consists of 300ft of up and down, offering a lot of rest bite and perfect for the cyclist who want to get fit quick or improve power output. The loops can be tackled with a full 8.4 mi effort or as an interval session with attack every hill in sight. Overall, safe roads but not the smoothest, but very very few cars.
