If you’re fairly confident on your bike on dirt and gravel surfaces and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Off-Road Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, there is barely a metre of tarmac in sight on these rides so come and enjoy the scrunch of gravel and the squelch of mud under your tyres with us! Rides are between 6 and 15 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
This ride involves 2 laps of an off-road route which offers spectacular views of Glasgow and the surrounding area. The ride will be taking place at Cathkin Braes, which is where the Mountain Bike Trails at the 2014 Commonwealth Games will take place. This ride however is a much gentler introduction to Off-Road riding and on the ride there will be plenty of opportunity to take photographs and learn about this area of the city.
Please do not use the postcode to find the start point for the ride. It is for the golf club. The Country Park does not have a full postcode, but the meeting point for the ride is the Car Park at Cathkin Braes Country Club.
