Garston Park Entrance by Coates Way and corner of St Albans Road.

This route starts in Garston Park and follows the cycle route 61 towards Watford Town Centre. We'll turn off before the town and arrive at Cassiobury Park. It's four miles each way and the pace will be steady to suit young children. Once at Cassiobury Park you can either join me as a I lead a ride around the Park and Whippendale Woods talking about the Heritage of the area and the history of the park and the Earls of Essex. This will take around an hour and a half, starting at Café Cha Cha at 11am. Or alternatively please feel free to enjoy the park and have a picnic with friends etc. We will then meet at Café Cha Cha to cycle the return journey home, back to Garston Park, at 2.30pm. This is a free organised ride to the park for you to enjoy so why not get a group of friends together? Things to Note: This is a family ride so it will be suitable for children who are confident on two wheels. We'll mostly be riding on dedicated cycle paths and the only road riding will be quiet residential streets. Children under 5 are welcome if they are in an approved bike seat, trailer or tag-along. Items to bring: A picnic or money to buy food / drinks at Cassiobury Park. A waterproof jacket is useful! Suncream A puncture repair kit, pump and / or spare inner tubes if you have them.
