2 in 1 ride: Otley to Bolton Abbey return., via Ilkley, 13 or 23 miles.

Due to COVID 19 we will still maintain social distancing. We will have various stops for chatting enroute and hopefully find a cafe half way at Bolton abbey village. Please bring hand sanitiser, face mask, in case still required and for emergencies, drinks and spare inner tube.

This ride is for both beginners and more established riders. Please read below details and let me know if you are doing the shorter one with ice up at Ilkley Lido.

I can pick up some riders at the Lido, Ilkley about 1015am to join in part of the ride, which would be about 13 miles return, if you are not confident doing the full ride. There are 2 hard hills on this, but we will get you up them!

The full ride is only for more established riders, but a good route to build up to longer rides; there are about 4 challenging hills, but we will always get you up them, it’s the distance in conjunction with the hills that you need to bear in mind. If in doubt regarding your ability to ride this route, please make contact and I will discuss with you.
The route- Setting out from Weston Lane opposite Ashfield Primary School in Otley, you’ll head through Askwith past Ilkley Lido and Addingham and on to Wandsworth Wood stopping at a Cafe in Bolton Abbey before heading back, taking in some lovely views of Bolton Abbey and surrounding countryside. This is a great route to boost confidence on quiet roads while taking in plenty of gorgeous scenery. There are more cyclists than cars on this route and sometimes more sheep than cyclists! Please arrive 10 mins before setting off time, remember to pump up your tyres before the journey and have a spare inner tube with you, together with drinks.
