Whitley Bay Big Local Beginners/family cycling group

This is a group for beginners and families. We will cycle short distances at a lower speed and enjoy the pleasure of cycling along our wonderful coast. The rides will start and finish at Whitley Bay Big Local where there is a cafe toilets and access to bike tools if required. Rides will be up to 6 miles in total and include a short stop esp if there is a good cafe nearby!! This group is suited to anyone who is new to cycling or returning after a break who want to build confidence on two wheels. We will use cycle paths where available but some cycling on the road may be required. The ride will be lead and supported and no one gets left behind. Helmets are not compulsory but it is advisable to wear one but this is a personal choice. Children are welcome but must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult. Minor tweaks can be made to cycles before the ride starts at Big Local bike fix but please make sure your bike is rideable before you set off. All abilities are welcome to attend- do please get in touch if you have any questions about reasonable adjustments we are close to Whitley Bay metro and free parking is available along the street- some local roads are permit holders only.
