Lanark Community Cycles

A regular, friendly series of weekly British Cycling supported rides starting in Lanark and travelling through quiet roads in the surrounding area. The rides are targeted at those who want to enjoy the security of led, group cycling or those who want to increase their cycling distance on new routes. We run Easy Going Guided Rides as well as Steady Community Rides. Both rides usually take place on quieter roads, and while you might encounter the occasional hill along the way, it won’t be anything too taxing. These rides average 10-12 mph. We ride on most Monday evenings during the Summer and on the occasional Saturday morning. We also run a few Challenging Rides, which allow riders to cover a good distance and conquer some hills in the comfort of a group. Whether you’re in training for a cycling challenge or just want to take your riding up a notch, our Challenging rides are a great place to start. Our Challenging rides' average speed is 12-15mph. If you’re looking to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are a great next step.
