Allerdale Coastal Explorers

Allerdale Coastal Explorers are a friendly group of people within the Let's Ride program, wishing to take part in gentle rides that will showcase all that the Allerdale coast has to offer. Starting from either Workington, Maryport, Allonby, Mawbray or Silloth. We cycle at an easy going, (under 10 mph), leisurely, sociable pace, most suitable for beginners & cycling new comers to ride with like-minded people. We will be having a snack break on each ride either at a local cycle friendly café along the way for purchased refreshments, or bringing our own picnic if the weather is kind to us on the day. Giving riders the chance to socially swap cycling hints & tips or just to chat about the route for that ride :) These rides will mostly be using cycle ways and quite country back roads either along the coast or leading to it. These are beginners rides of anywhere between 5 to 15 miles each ride, suitable for all bike types & for those riders wishing to do more gentle cycle routes. Leisure E-bike riders are especially welcomed on our rides whether established E-bike riders or new to an E-bike, with as always a fully charged battery. We always travel at the slowest rider's speed with encouragement, support and friendship so no one is ever left behind. So this group is not for you if you require speed or wish to beat your personal best on Strava!
