AWOL (Anstey Without Lycra) are a relaxed cycling group who welcome all cyclists especially those who may not have been on a bike for a while. As the name says we are not about having all the gear, but it could be said we have no idea!

Our rides are about having fun & discovering new places, if we get a bit of excersize along the way it's a bonus. We set off from Anstey in Leicestershire on Saturday mornings at 9.30, in the summer some go out in the evenings too. We usually ride between 10 and 20 miles depending on who attends. There are lots of lovely rides from Anstey, with many of them including cycle paths away from the roads. We go at an easy pace of about 10mph which includes stops at the top of hills to re group, have a moan and enjoy the views. There is always a cafe stop along the way where we rate the coffee & toilets.

AWOL is a small friendly group who believe that cycling can open up your life to new places, people and adventures.
