Winchester Breeze to Owslebury Bottom

Starting at Wolvesey Palace we'll cycle through the back streets of St Cross. We'll head along 5 Bridges Rd to the cycle path over the viaduct and on to Compton. We will turn into Shawford towards Twyford then cycle through quieter country lanes around Owslebury Bottom. Returning via Twyford and Church Lane to the cycle path which follows the river and our starting point at the Wolvesey Palace.

There is opportunity for a cafe stop on this ride at the Bean Below in Twyford or the Handlebar cafe depending upon weather as both have outdoor seating.

There are hills on this ride but we will cycle at an easy pace and nobody will be left behind.

Please NOTE: Current guidance due to Covid19 means we will be riding differently from a usual Breeze ride. We will observe 2m social distance at all times cycling and at stops in accordance with current government guidance. The ride leader will brief you before the ride. Please do not come if you are feeling unwell or have been asked to self isolate by NHS test and trace. It is not advised for anyone classed as vulnerable to attend group rides at this time.

Things to bring:
- Mask, disposable gloves and hand sanitiser.
- Lights for your bike - in case it's dull
- Please ensure you have the right clothing for the weather and hi-vis if possible.
- A drink and snack if you think you need one
- A spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump just in case of a puncture.
(We can advise but not physically assist).
- Payment card for cafe stop and bike lock.
