Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4ND

This long, challenging ride sets off from Loxley Road and heads north through Bolsterstone and Stocksbridge and through some lovely lanes until we reach the foot of the climb up Holme Moss. This long climb takes us over the moors with some stunning views and then drops down steeply to Glossop. We then continue south through Hayfield and Chapel-en-le-Frith and Hargatewall until we reach Millers Dale (more lovely views on the way). We then continue through Tideswell and onwards to Eyam before climbing up the long steady climb of Nether Padley. From there we continue to Ringinglow, past the Norfolk Arms and to Lodge Moor before we drop steeply down to Rivelin Valley Road. We'll then use a couple of back lanes to bring us to Stannington Road and back to the start point on Loxley Road. This is a long ride with multiple challenging climbs, so bring plenty of food and drink. We'll stop for a café break along the way (probably in Tideswell), but you'll need fuel and water as you ride. As on any of our rides, we'll take our time and there is no pressure to go faster than you want to. We never leave anyone behind!

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
Please do not attend if you have COVID symptoms (new, persistent cough; fever; loss of sense of smell or taste) or if any of your household has symptoms or is isolating. Maintain social distance throughout the ride, including at the start/finish and the café stop. Bring a facemask for use at the café stop. Another ride will be leaving at the same time, so please join the group for this ride and maintain separation from the other group.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
